The Honey Pot Nursery and Preschool

Established 1999

Providing a happy, safe environment for children aged six weeks to five years old in Burton Joyce since 1999

Our Nursery

Our Nursery is located in the village of Burton Joyce, Nottingham. We have a clear vision and aim to provide children aged 0-5 years with a secure, happy and stimulating environment where each child is treated as an individual. Our children develop in all areas of learning whilst building upon their confidence and resilience, making choices and exploring different cultures and celebrations. We help prepare all children for their next steps in and outside of our home from home setting. Becoming part of The Honey Pot family will enable parents to be engaged with their children's learning. Working in partnership with parents is fundamental to our ethos and we welcome your input into your child's early education.

Ofsted registration number: EY408810

We were last inspected in February 2023, and we are pleased to say we are rated good in all areas.

Learning Journals with Tapestry

At The Honey Pot we use Tapestry, a secure online learning journal, to record and celebrate your child's learning and development. Practitioners regularly upload observations and photographs, giving a rich picture of your child's experiences and progress in line with the Early Years Foundations Stage (EYFS).
Tapestry enables us to track each child's development accurately, identify their strengths and plan meaningful next steps to support their learning. This also allows us to produce clear and well informed reports that reflect your child's individual journey. Parents are sent a PDF file at the end of each term of their child's journal.

more than just a nursery

The Honey Pot is more than just a Nursery. The key to our setting is delivery of a home from home environment where children and their families feel a part of our family. We are not corporate and we care for a maximum of 31 children per day enabling us to tailor our service to the needs of each child. Our environment is carefully planned and the curriculum is structured to ensure the individual touch is of utmost importance.

Key person approach

The Key Person Approach is a vital pillar in the Early Years Foundation Stage, ensuring each child is allocated to a key person. Operating as a small village Nursery, it is imperative for us to build relationships between our staff, families and children. We know from our vast experience that this creates a unique experience for children and their families
